KAD Volleyball Club — a spirited team of current and former Lenasia residents — proudly represented South Africa at the 2025 World Masters Games held in Taipei and New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Their journey began in February 2024 with a bold vision: to prepare for one of the world’s most prestigious events in masters sports. What followed was over a year of dedicated training, fundraising, and team-building — culminating in a truly memorable international experience.
Sita Tarryn Singh, President of KAD Volleyball Club, reflected on the mission behind their participation:
“My goal was to create a meaningful platform for our women to compete internationally and showcase South African volleyball on the global stage.”
More than a competition, she said, the event was a celebration of lifelong athleticism and unity.
“It gave women across different age groups the chance to express their passion, skill, and dedication to the sport,” she added.
Singh expressed immense pride in her team’s performance, describing their presence in Taiwan as both graceful and determined.
“We returned home with medals, unforgettable memories, and a deep sense of achievement. It’s something that will inspire us for years to come.”
But the path to Taipei was not without its challenges. Organizing international participation meant navigating registrations, travel arrangements, visas, and accommodations — all of which required meticulous planning and unwavering commitment. With limited resources, the team turned to community support, raising funds through raffles and events. Local businesses, families, and friends stepped in generously, and Singh acknowledged their critical role:
“We are especially grateful to our sponsors, particularly Strate Ltd. Your belief in us turned a dream into reality.”
While the competition was intense, the experience went far beyond the court. “Each athlete received a travel card with funds for public transport, which made exploring Taiwan incredibly accessible. From the breathtaking Fulong Beach, where beach volleyball took place, to the bustling Taipei city center near the iconic Taipei 101, the entire journey was unforgettable,”** Singh shared.
The indoor matches were held at the Chinese Cultural University, offering world-class, Olympic-grade facilities.
“Everything was organized with such professionalism. The venues were spotless, the city was safe and welcoming, and the people were incredibly friendly,” she noted.
“Even our hotel was cozy and perfect for our needs. And the food—diverse and delicious—made it a true cultural experience.”
Sponsors Who Made It Possible:
KAD Volleyball Club extended sincere thanks to their valued sponsors:

A 12-member delegation — including 10 players and 2 coaches — flew the KAD flag with pride, and the entire team remains deeply grateful to the community that stood behind them.
Eyes on the Future:
With their Taiwan journey complete, KAD Volleyball Club is already setting its sights on the future. Their next big goal: competing at the 2027 World Masters Games in Kansai, Japan. Preparations are underway, and the team is more motivated than ever to continue uplifting women in sport and representing South Africa with pride.
