The City of Johannesburg is preparing to hold two Revenue Open Days simultaneously for residents in Region A and Region G on Saturday, 07 June 2025.
These events aim to enhance the City’s efforts in addressing municipal bill inquiries from property owners and to provide direct assistance to the community.
Region A encompasses neighborhoods such as Midrand, Kyalami, Kya Sands, Dainfern, Glen Austin, Lone Hill Extensions, Ebony Park, and Halfway Gardens Extensions, among others.
Region G includes areas like Lenasia, Eldorado Park, Ennerdale, Zakariyya Park, Lawley, and Orange Farm.
The Open Days are part of the City’s initiative to promptly address residents’ concerns regarding municipal accounts, ensuring effective resolution and support.
Kgamanyane Maphologela, Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement in Group Finance, anticipates a strong turnout for both events.
“We encourage residents and business owners to take advantage of the City’s visit to their area to receive assistance and resolve their queries. We expect a diverse group of attendees, including both residential and commercial customers,” Maphologela stated.
He emphasized that the Open Days will provide a wide range of services, including support for customers facing payment difficulties, registration for pensioner rebates for the elderly, and access to the Expanded Social Package (ESP). Various specialists from billing, refunds, rates, valuations, legal, back-office, front-office, City Power, and Joburg Water will be available to assist.
“Residents will have the opportunity for face-to-face consultations with officials specializing in municipal services—covering billing, water, electricity, rates, refuse, sewerage, valuations, and more—all under one roof,” Maphologela added.
The City has also partnered with the Office of the Ombudsman, which will be present to assist with escalated queries.
