The International Association for Human Values (IAHV), along with its partners and sponsors, hosted their annual Christmas party for the elderly residents of Nirvana Heaven Old Age Home, located on Nirvana Drive in Lenasia. The event took place on Saturday, 7 December 2024, at 3:00 PM, bringing festive cheer to the residents.
A highlight of the event was a lively performance by a full-house band, complemented by talented singers. The music was so infectious that it encouraged many of the elderly to get up from their chairs and dance, filling the atmosphere with joyous energy. The performances perfectly captured the spirit of the season and ensured that everyone enjoyed a memorable time.
To make the celebration even more special, the elderly residents were treated to a delicious meal, and each received thoughtful hampers, sponsored by various organizations, as tokens of appreciation. Many residents also won exciting prizes in different categories, adding an extra layer of joy to the event.
Rakhee Devchand, the IAHV board chairperson, expressed her gratitude, saying, “To the Sanskar Band, you were in your element! Thank you for the wonderful music and a special thanks to all our guest singers who contributed to making this event a success.” She also extended her appreciation to the sponsors for their generous contributions, which helped create such a festive and uplifting atmosphere. “The elders were very happy, and that really was the goal. It’s so important for society to take care of them,” she added.
Sundra Moonreddy, the secretary of the Nirvana Heaven Old Age Home, shared his heartfelt thanks on behalf of the residents and committee, saying, “On behalf of the committee and residents of Nirvana Heaven Old Age Home, I warmly want to thank the International Association for Human Values in partnership with Gospel World Radio and Sankar Productions for this wonderful pre-Christmas party we all enjoyed.”
The event was a beautiful reminder of the importance of community, compassion, and spreading joy during the holiday season.
