Low pressure is causing some extensions to run out of water.

Many extensions in Lenasia have been battling with low pressure or no water since around 8:30 a.m. today, December 17, 2024. A number of issues seem to be complicating the water recovery and maintenance processes in the Eikenhof area, according to some updates that Rand Water sent on their WhatsApp channel.

Rand Water has issued a statement regarding the ongoing water supply issues, outlining key factors affecting restoration times:

1. Location: Low-lying areas will receive water first, while higher-lying areas may experience delays in restoration.
2. Water Network Condition: If the water network has been heavily depleted, it will take time to refill and restore a consistent supply.
3. Reservoir and Tower Levels: Partial filling of reservoirs may lead to intermittent water supply as the system gradually stabilizes.
4. Technical Issues: Airlocks or bursts in pipes could further delay the restoration process.

The situation is expected to improve daily as the system stabilises. Rand Water has thanked residents for their patience throughout this process.
