The South African Police Service in Tshwane has successfully recovered a Freightliner truck transporting medicine worth an estimated R2.5 million after it was hijacked in the Wierdabrug policing area on Friday 21 November 2025 at about 08:00.
Following the incident, the truck’s tracking system was activated without delay and the information immediately shared with SAPS units and nearby police stations. Officers launched a coordinated search and by approximately 11:00 the vehicle was traced to Monument Road in Mnandi within the Olievenhoutbosch policing precinct.
Upon arrival at the scene, police located a suspect inside the truck and placed him under arrest.
