Learners with SAPS member, Engen Garage member and owner, school principal and other members.

SAPS Meadowlands in partnership with Engen Garage Meadowlands have blessed 20 learners from Tlhokomelo Primary School, Lejoeleputsoa Primary School, and Masekhene Primary School with brand new school uniforms on Tuesday, 16 March 2021 at Tlhokomelo Primary School, Zone 2 in Meadowlands.

Many of these learners come from underprivileged backgrounds and do not have parents living in orphanages.

According to the principal of Tlhokomelo Primary School, Hlupheka George Maluleke said: “We are very happy and excited of getting new uniform for our learners who come from underprivileged backgrounds which are mostly orphans and child headed families. This is going to go a long way in assisting and giving our learners a breakthrough.”

Visipol Policing Commander Lieutenant Colonel Jabulani Godfrey Tshabalala explained: “We were initially visiting all the schools around the area and we identified learners from schools that needed new uniform. We then approached our businesses in Meadowlands and Engen Garage came on board and assisted us to buy uniforms for the learners. It is an honour for us to do this.”

“We were actually humbled when SAPS approached us to make a donation towards the school uniforms. We did this to give back to the community and we would like to do it again going forward,” ended owner of Engen Garage Meadowlands, Zone 2, David Pooe.
