Upon arrival the police found a decomposed body lying with a chainsaw on him.
“The investigation into an inquest case that was opened following the discovery of the body of a 26-year-old man, has revealed the possibility that the man may have been killed whereupon the inquest case has subsequently been revised to murder. Police have found that the deceased had been reported missing on 11 March and his body was found in a state of decomposition in an open veld,” said Provincial spokesperson Brigadier Peters Mathapelo.
She added that police are investigating the circumstances that may have led to the murder and appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist in the investigation, to contact the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or alternatively via the MySAPS app that can be downloaded onto any smartphone. All information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence.
Missing in SA director Wendy Pasco she said: “Emilio was a recovering addict, attending a drug rehabilitation facility when he went missing on the 11 of March. His decapitated body was found two weeks later in a field in Ennerdale lying with a chainsaw on him - where the community of Ennerdale held a memorial service in honour of him. The gruesome manner in which Davids was killed has left the family traumatized and desperate for answers and justice.”
