The South African Police Service has appealed to Mr Fadiel Adams to voluntarily present himself at his nearest police station following serious criminal allegations linked to a high profile murder investigation.
In a media statement issued in Pretoria on 5 May 2026, SAPS National Spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed that the SAPS Political Killings Task Team is seeking Mr Adams in connection with charges of fraud, as well as defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
Police have obtained a J50 warrant of arrest for Mr Adams. The warrant stems from allegations that he unlawfully interfered with ongoing investigations into the murder of former ANC Youth League leader Mr Sindiso Magaqa. Investigators maintain that the alleged interference occurred at a particularly sensitive and advanced stage of the investigation.
According to SAPS, the task team’s enquiries revealed that Mr Adams made contact with the hitman who has since been convicted and sentenced for Mr Magaqa’s murder, compromising the integrity of the investigative process.
Brigadier Mathe said police have made extensive efforts to locate Mr Adams. These efforts included visits to several addresses linked to him and engagements with his legal representative. An arrangement was reportedly made for Mr Adams to hand himself over at the Cape Town Central Police Station on Monday, 4 May 2026, but he failed to honour this agreement.
Mr Adams was also due to appear before a KwaZulu Natal court on the same day, where he did not present himself. SAPS has since attempted repeatedly to make contact with his legal representative, without success.
The South African Police Service has reiterated its call for Mr Adams to cooperate with law enforcement processes and to present himself without further delay at the nearest police station, warning that failure to do so will result in continued efforts to effect his arrest.
