Coutries added that Dr. Rampai had previously held the position of Legal Advisor at various private companies. Prior to joining the City of Johannesburg, Dr. Rampai held the position of Executive Manager in the CEO’s Office at the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority, and subsequently acted as the Chief Executive Officer at the same company. He was a consultant on ethics and provided ethics advice and training of executives in both the private and public sector companies.

Dr. Rampai has earned the BJuris, LLB, MBA and MPhil (Ethics) degrees.

"ActionSA Joburg Caucus which places much emphasis on education believes that Dr Ramphai’s achievement will play a critical role in shaping our city, which places education ahead of everything. We, therefore, encourage, our youth and adults to replicate or even surpass what Dr. Rampai has achieved. One of our core values speaks to quality education, and this milestone achievement resonates well with what we stand for as ActionSA," ended Coutries.
