Garden City is now Garbage City and Traffic just increases

traffic in Bangalore. By www.thehindu.com
Bangalore is known as the Garden City in India for years now. I remember it as Garden City when I came on tour end of 2005 – beginning 2006. It also had minimal traffic. But when I reached Bangalore on August 17, 2012, oh my word, it was shocking to see that Bangalore turned out to be a city that is full of pollution, traffic and population has increased and worst of all garbage. It was not like that before. But as the years have passed, it has turned out to be Garbage City.
As we know, Mumbai is a busy place, heavy traffic and it is over populated. But Bangalore is slowing getting there to as I can see it.
People do not care how they drive or bother to follow traffic rules. You would see an auto rickshaw skipping the red robot, or a car or bike or bus, constant traffic jams, people fighting with each other because they have no way to go through or to park in the parking bay.
It is tough as if you come from a clean environment where Oxygen (O2) is breathable you have no issues, living in the city where it is polluted and everywhere you go you see garbage is not a nice feeling. You feel nauseated and lack O2 at some point.
It is a great experience if you have lived a life where you do not see pollution or garbage lying on the streets and people still selling vegetables, fruits, etc on the side of the road despite that awful smell, people hooting constantly or a fight going on causing a traffic jam. Hopefully 10 years from now Bangalore will turn into Garden City because it is surely missed by many.
I hope that in the future this will change and help Bangaloreans live a healthy life.

Final closure for Bawa Family

The late Areff Bawa of Lenasia
Life sentence plus 65 years imprisonment for the accused who shoot dead crime fighter, Areff Bawa on August 11, 2010, in Lenasia. The accused was convicted on March 19, 2013 at the Palmridge Magistrates Court in Alberton, south of Johannesburg
Shahim Ismail, Bawa’s brother from court said, “The guy who killed Areff Bawa from SA Rangers is convicted. This proves that we crime fighters will fight to the end. Thank you to all who supported me and my family.”
Bawa sister Rehana in a soft voice said, “Areff was a goodhearted soul that did well for everyone and expected nothing in return. He loved his family and literally gave his life for our safety,”
She added that the best way to describe Bawa is, an angel and she would do anything to see him one more time.
“If my brother was given a second chance, he would probably give his life up in the same way,” Rehana concluded.
Shuabe Bayett from Easy Security Solutions (ESS) described Bawa as ‘respected by all for being a gentleman’.
Bawa’s death left behind many scars on the residents of Lenasia.  Bawa was the owner of SA Rangers Security before he succumbed to his death when shot dead during a robbery. Three  of the four  criminals were also shoot dead on scene in Ext 7, Lenasia.
His brother Ismail, along with other security personnel’s was part of the incident, while fighting crime to catch these criminals. But sadly, noon called for the death of Bawa.
A week later Zaakirah Vadi, (Sub-Editor) of Rising Sun, wrote a story of the entire situation, which was just barbaric and gruesome.
Ismail, expressed his anger that during the time of the shooting there were 60 witnesses, but came to this year, 54 faded away and there were only six left to testify against the suspect after long battles.
It is alleged that the accused was serving parole in 2010 when Bawa was killed.
Bawa was married, and left behind his brother Shahim, three sister’s Rehana, Ziboon and Shereen, wife, mother, nieces and nephews who had no closure for more then two years after constant running to court for the hearing of the accused till the accused was finally sentenced for life plus 65 years.
