A mother, a child, a wife, a friend, or a prostitute?

Is a woman a mother, a child, a wife, a friend or a prostitute. It takes two to mingle but it takes 10 men to have sex with one woman who is desperate for money.
Prostitution, is not something that has just popped up out now recently, it has been going on for years.
On Friday April 19, 2013 just outside my hostel, there was an alleged kidnapping around 11:30pm near the Art of Living Ashram, Bangalore. The first question that went through my mind, why was this girl walking on a dark road so late? It frightened me to know that in any scenario of kidnapping, we would either hear that the person has been raped and murdered or raped and left for dead.
The next day, we all questioned the situation, could it be a kidnapping, a prostitute, a run away girl, what could it be? Why was she wearing a night gown? The boys from the hostel were outside when they heard a scream and the girl being forced into the car. They  closed the road off with rocks, the vehicle stopped, but in a panic state the driver put foot on the accelerator and drove over the rocks. The boys gave chase, and took down the number plate of the car, but were in-vain. They reported it at the police station.
But my instinct kept telling me this girl is a prostitute, and yes it was believed to be a prostitute.
Women waiting to be picked up.
This came about when the vehicle had stopped inquiring about the bumps on Saturday night (April 20) while passing by. After he noticed a big group gathered on the road, he sent a few people to IAME college.
Speaking to the teacher, these men stated that it was a prostitute, and she allegedly did not agree with the amount offered to her, so she walked out. But who are these men, hmmm, typical, they are believed to be politicians. Though my question is what the hell is a politician doing with a prostitute just before the Lok Satta election in Karnataka? What is the example he is setting to the youth out there? That it is good to sleep with women? Is he suppose to be setting an example or destroying his image?
When will prostitution ever end is a question that everyone and I ask myself?
Only way we can find a solution is if men that pick these women up, stop picking them up every night, and more jobs are created for people.

How safe are journos in Lenz?

Journos should carry pepper spray 24/7. www.sabcnews.nl

Away from Lenasia for the past eight months, has just been shocking to hear what has happened to two of my colleagues and friends this week. I was expecting to hear crime has decreased in my hometown, but only to get shocking and barbaric news that Zaakirah Vadi and Shenaaz Jamal from my former office nearly got mugged in the CBD on Rose Avenue.

A natural to know people would not bother to help out, but just sickening to know that many of those passer-by are people who were or are victims of been mugged within the CBD. The community seems to not care what is happening, as it seems to be a daily fashion show going on in the CBD and its surroundings.

But honestly this was not the first time Vadi and Jamal have experienced mugging, first week in January, in Ext 9, Shenaaz’s necklace was grabbed, leaving her bruised on her neck.

The question I ask myself is, what are the community and police doing in Lenasia to fight crime?
Fighting crime cannot happen alone by the police, but they need help from the community, as the community can identify criminals who have attacked them.

Yes, I am not saying that all cops are honest, there are tons of corrupt police officers who get away with murder, but that doesn’t mean the community need to stop fighting crime.

Journalist, life’s are at risk 24/7, looks like they might have to carry pepper spray with them, so it teachers these criminals that messing with a journalist will cause them harm. And the police will arrest them, as journos are attentive and remember faces of criminals easily despite being shaken up when they are involved in a criminal incident.

But good job. these two idiots who tried mugging Vadi and Jamal were arrested after Jamal identified them despite being shaken up.

Being in India, I said to Zaakirah, I don't want to come home. That is how embarrassed and disgusted I am by what is happening in my hometown
