LRA/LBF raise major issues of Lenasia



Meeting Summary: Lenasia Residents Association and Lenasia Business Forum  
Date: 6 October 2024

The Lenasia Residents Association (LRA) and Lenasia Business Forum (LBF) convened their monthly meeting to address pressing community issues, including rates and taxes, housing, service delivery, public health, and safety concerns. 

Ward 8 Councillor Godfrey Lebea attended and actively listened to residents, while Ward 9 and 10 Councillors, Yacoob Jakes Karolia and Nokuthula Nofemela, were absent without apologies. 

Key topics discussed included:

- Housing challenges
-  Rates and taxes
- Service at Lenasia Ext 5 Clinic
-  Vehicle safety, particularly theft concerns at the Lenasia Ext 5 Clinic 
- Enhanced Social Package (ESP)

Mohammed Rasool, a member of the Lenasia Ext 5 Clinic ward committee, committed to bringing residents’ concerns to the clinic's staff in his upcoming meetings. Cllr. Lebea also pledged to escalate these issues to relevant departments.

The next meeting is scheduled for 3 November 2024, from 12 PM to 1 PM at their offices.
