MMC's and Councillors together on stage. |
Prompted by the poor service delivery to the residence of Soweto, Action SA held its first Imbizo on Monday, 29 August at the Naledi Hall Community in Soweto. This was to listen to community’s concern but most importantly to map a way forward.
Residents have not had the luck of getting the service they deserve from the city for a long time. Some of the concerns raised were the issues surrounding crime, streetlights, corruption, housing issues, basic service delivery, substance abuse and myriad of other issues.
Some of the dignitaries who attended the event were, MMC for Public Safety David Tembe, MMC for Roads and Transport Funzela Ngobeni, MMC for Economic Development Nkuli Mbundu, Cllr Zark Lebatlang, Cllr Siyabonga Zwane, Cllr Emma More, Cllr Tshepo Mposula, Cllr Nobuhle Mthembu and Cllr Ayanda Mchunu.
Concerns were noted down and the team explained that they will ensure matters are resolved. MMC Tembe explained that he will be having more JMPD vehicles visibility in the area in the next few weeks.
The Cllrs explained that there is no place for corruption.
