Speaking to the media she said: “I feel honoured and blessed to be the first ever Ms Glam South Africa title holder and I entered the pageant cause it was about entrepreneurship and I always wanted to be one. I sell my own brand which is Girl Gang merchandise.”
She added that they teach young girls and women about entrepreneurs and encouraging women empowerment include fight against Period Poverty by providing Girls with sanitary pads.
“I sometimes struggle with time management. My day job, my foundation and queen duties such as attending events or radio interviews. Sometimes I have to attend two events in one day or cancel some,” she said.
Her inspiration is the current Mrs Johannesburg, Lesley-Rae Coetzer. She is real and the most caring woman that she knows. She has a caring heart for her community. She encouraged Monique when she was at her lowest.
Badenhorst message to young people is to do what makes you happy rather then follow your talent. You could be a great singer and still be unhappy. Always remember that you are what God says you are and you can achieve anything.
“I would like to fight against Period Poverty. Sanitary pads should be free like condoms. Sex is a choice but menstruation is not. I would like to restore dignity and confidence without our children,” she ended
